Greyce’s First Nail Shop Experience 💅🏽🤩

For weeks, my husband and I had been talking about taking Greyce to the nail salon for her very first mani‑pedi. Now that she’s officially 4, it felt like the perfect moment to create one of those core memories she’ll be bragging about when she’s older. The night before, we gave her the full pep talk — what to expect, how to try to sit still, and how fun it was going to be. I’m convinced she carried that excitement straight into her dreams because she was mumbling about “pink toes” in her sleep.

Her vision was clear: pink toes and rainbow fingers. A girl with a plan.

We pulled up to Glamour Nails, and let me tell you — they lived up to the name. From the moment we walked in, it was obvious this was Greyce’s show. My husband and I go every two weeks like clockwork, so we were just there as her glam squad. All eyes were on her, and she ate it up.

We started with her manicure. And when I say she picked colors… I mean she picked colors. About 20 of them. After some gentle negotiations (and a little parental intervention), we finally narrowed it down to two:

  • Pink — her forever favorite
  • Purple — because “it looks like magic,” according to her

But of course, Greyce wasn’t stopping there. The nail tech added glitter to every single finger because… obviously. ✨

And if you know our baby, once she gets activated, there is no off switch. She turned that nail appointment into a full interview. She asked the nail tech everything from:

  • “Where’s your bed in here?” to
  • Sharing personal family business that absolutely did not need to be shared with the public 😂

We were equal parts proud and mortified.

Right in the middle of all the chaos, a woman in the salon stopped to tell us we were exceptional parents and that she loved watching how we interacted with Greyce. Just a girl and her two dads navigating the moment together — and apparently doing something right. That compliment hit us right in the heart.

After the manicure, it was time for family pedicures. The smile on Greyce’s face during that moment? That’s one we’ll carry with us forever. Pure joy. Pure pride. Pure “look at me, I’m grown.”

But reality came for us QUICK. Her little feet couldn’t reach the bowl, and her patience evaporated in record time. She got restless, wiggly, and absolutely uninterested in holding her foot still. The polish didn’t stand a chance.

Yes… her toes had to be redone. Yes… she still wiggled. Yes… we were sweating.

But honestly? It was hilarious and perfect in its own chaotic way.

Even with the wiggles, the redo, and the tiny meltdown brewing under the surface, the experience was everything we hoped it would be. Greyce walked out of that salon like she owned the entire plaza — hands spread wide, toes pointed, showing off her nails to anyone who would look.

A full‑blown diva princess in her element. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
